Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Her first album has been described as going from "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated influences from electronic music hip-hop and rock. Her songs frequently touch on gender issues and science fiction. Five albums have come out. Grimes is a native of Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. She began her independent music career in late early 2000s. In 2010, she released two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Following her signing with 4AD and gaining the charts thanks to Visions the third album of studio work. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and won the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio record, was released in 2015. Several publications called it the top album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album in the studio. Grimes was also an actress and judge in Alter Ego's music competitions, performed as singer as part of Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 20th of January, 2020.
